Facebook Messenger Lite Download for Android

A few months back Facebook Launched Messenger Lite app globally which is a lighter version of Messenger much like Facebook Lite.It was launched in 132 countries but India was not on the list. Finally, it has launched in India and is now available in Google Play Store.

Messenger app is heavy and most of the entry level smartphones and old devices can’t run the app smoothly. Aiming at those devices, Facebook launched this app which is lighter and faster. It works well on slow internet connections, uses fewer data and can perform in any network conditions.

Messenger Lite is smaller in size of about 5 Mb only and it takes less storage on your device. Rather than saying lighter version, Facebook dubbed it as the fastest version of Messenger. Devices with limited processing power benefit more with this application.

It provides most of the basic functions as Messenger like sending text messages, images, links, stickers. emojis etc. One of the limitations is you can’t make a video call, You need to fire up original Messenger app to make calls and video calls.

In some regions, there is an option for sending money with the Messenger, but this feature won’t be available in the lite version of Messenger.
