MIUI 9 new features and changes you should know

MIUI 9 is official now. MIUI is the custom user interface of Xiaomi mobiles. MIUI has been under criticism for making a copy of iOS, but with each iteration, Xiaomi has been adding more customizations, features, and optimizations. Their thriving development to the user interface makes MIUI stand out among other skins out there in the mobile market.

MIUI 9 is launched with new features, upgrades, and changes. The features we are going to mention here are present in the Chinese ROM, some features may not be available in global rom. Three main features of this update are Smart Assistant, Image Search, and Smart App launcher.

Image Search

Image search is not a new feature but it is completely new for Xiaomi devices. In Photos app by google, you can search for images using keywords. Let’s see how it will turn out on Xiaomi devices.

It opens up applications based on the content of the screen. Suppose you are on an app and invoked Smart App Launcher, it shows recommendations of the apps reading the content of the screen. It is smart enough to show you recommendations reducing your strain.

Smart Assistant

Smart Assistant feature helps you find anything on the phone from text to photos. It is just like Google Now. Features are to be tested once global rom rolls out as it is available only in China.

There are many other improvements such as System Optimization, Split-Screen Multitasking, New Themes, New Animationsetc.

One more feature called Miui Lab is added to try the experimental features of Miui if users want to.
