Whatsapp New update – PiP video calls

Whatsapp owned by Facebook is the most popular instant messaging application out there. Whatsapp announced an update with its beta version of app. It comes with a new feature that is enabled by default in Android O developer preview.

Pip video call feature stands for picture in picture. You might have seen a floating window of the video call on Skype on your PC. With this feature, you can continue your video call simultaneously working with your PC. In the same way PiP feature in whatsapp enables users to minimize the video call window into a smaller one. One can continue with their whatsapp chat conversations while having a video call.

There is not much information about the feature yet whether it will be a floating window so that you can drag around the screen. Also, it is not known yet whether the video call continues even after minimizing whatsapp. If that happens, it will be an invaluable experience to the smartphone user. Whatsapp will be the first of kind to include such feature on smartphone platform. It aids users for smooth multi tasking.

Other new features of Whatsapp

  • You can now send any type of documents with whatsapp, just tap on the attach symbol and document to send docu ments.
  • In Whatsapp camera( Swipe from left), you can see all the photos on your device by swiping upon in the camera interface. You can select photos easily and share with your friends.
  • While typing, tap and hold on the text to italicize, bold the words you are sending in chat.
