What  is Chromium Browser- A Google Product:

Chromium is one of the web browsers, which is a product of Google. Chromium is an open-source web browser which is a Google proprietary product. The Chromium was created to provide source code for the Google Chrome browser. In one way, both Chrome and Chromium are like sister products.

Google Chrome and Chromium share the majority of the features and code despite minute differences. The logos are identical to so extent but are different with different licensing.

Difference Between Chrome and Chromium:

Google Chrome, which is one of the highest used web browsers has its base open-source source code of Chromium. The Chromium project maintains the open-source code of Chrome. The most important difference between both is that Chrome is based on Chromium. The parent company Google adds a number of features which are proprietary. The Features include auto updates, additional apps, extensions, support for additional video formats etc.

The Chromium OS was designed in a similar way by Google, in which the open-source project that forms the basis for their own Chrome Operating System. The Chrome operating system runs based on the Chromebooks.

Automatic Update Of Newer Versions:
Google Chrome has its code written in such a way that the latest versions of updates are automatically updated on the windows Operating System. Chrome builds of codes have the fascinating infrastructure for analyzing crashes and reporting bugs. As soon as the new release of latest update occurs, it auto updates.

Besides, Chromium has no facility to auto update the latest versions of updates. It neither has auto update nor the symbols. The updates for Chromium are available only on specific platforms like Linux distributions, updates are made available via package repositories.

Crash Reporting And Tracking Of The Usage:
Google Chrome has inbuilt crash reporting and usage tracker systems. The Google servers receive data from Chrome. The usage statistics and bug or crash reporting is sent to the google servers by Chrome. The usage statistics include information like IP address of the devices, Operating Systems, Chrome settings, visited websites, malware, search data, browser history etc. This allows Google to improve or filter the suggestions, results, and ads that are most relevant to the user.

On the other hand, Chromium has no crash reporting or usage statistics tracker. so, the ads, suggestions, results, and ads may or may not be relevant to the usage of the customer.
